Entry requirement

  • an undergraduate degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant subject obtained from a UK university or an equivalent degree or Postgraduate Diploma from a recognised university abroad

  • professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AIB, ACII etc, if they are obtained by examination

Course Information

The MSc Corporate Governance and Leadership provides you with an in depth understanding of the two key areas which is of fundamental importance to businesses and society globally. The course will provide you with a sound understanding of corporate governance and leadership from corporate, investor and stakeholder perspectives for corporates, governmental and non-profit seeking organisations. The course is benchmarked against ICSA: The Governance Institute, which means that on completion of the course you will be eligible for the award of Grad ICSA.

This course is suitable if you hold a finance, accounting, law or business qualification at undergraduate level. Those with a related degree in law or accounting and finance may be eligible for exemptions on some modules.

The course provides a theoretical and vocational framework, analytical techniques and key transferable skills to facilitate an advanced study of corporate governance and leadership to the benchmarked professional standard. You will develop the ability to apply relevant knowledge and use your learnt skills to exercise professional judgement in carrying out the role of a chartered secretary relating to:  general management issues; strategic decisional making; corporate governance and managing risk within an organisation and legal constraints. The course prepares you for contemporary issues in corporate finance and reporting. The completion of a dissertation enables you to apply your skills in effective scholarly research whilst linking your learning with a real-world situation.
