Applicants must have successfully completed Year 12 of secondary school or an equivalent qualification.
For students from Vietnam, this means:
High School Graduation (Year 12 completion), or
An equivalent upper secondary qualification acceptable to UCIC.
Applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account academic performance and relevant subjects studied.
Applicants must meet one of the following English language requirements:
IELTS Academic overall score of 5.5, with no band below 5.0, or
An equivalent English language qualification accepted by UCIC.
Applicants who do not meet the English language requirement may be required to complete an approved English language programme before commencing the Diploma.
Upon successful completion of the Undergraduate Diploma in University Studies: Commerce, students may progress to Year 2 of the Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Canterbury, subject to meeting progression requirements.
Diploma in Commerce is equivalent to the first year of your undergraduate commerce studies. Upon completion of the programme you will be eligible to progress* to the second year of the Bachelor of Commerce degree and you will be able to choose from a variety of specialisations.
