The Hairstylist Certificate program prepares students for employment in the hair industry by providing them with authentic learning experiences to develop the knowledge, skills, and professionalism to be successful in the industry. Students are required to complete salon work experiences in terms 2 and 3, which will provide insight into the general salon functions, duties, roles, and responsibilities of a stylist. Upon successful completion of both the Hairstylist Certificate and the Esthetics Certificate, students are eligible to receive a Cosmetology Diploma at VCC.

Well-trained hairstylists are in constant demand in every community. Graduates specializing in Hairstylist Certificate who have obtained their provincial license are qualified to secure employment in large or small salons or open their own business.
