In this Joint Honours programme you will study a wide range of topics that, after the first year, can be tailored to suit your own individual interests. You will be immersed in examining the range of disciplines associated with their chosen subjects including the psychology, sociology, philosophy and history of education. You will also explore the social, cultural and political development of the 15th century to the present day while also focusing on British, European and American history.
You can benefit from a high level of flexibility in your degree pathway. Module choices do not need to be made until the second year and you may choose whether to major in Education or in History or to keep an even split of subjects.
You will have the opportunity to develop employability skills and knowledge through volunteering, events, field trips to historical sites, workshops and work placements with local partners in history and heritage. Students will also engage with research placements, organising talks and social events.
You will be taught by an enthusiastic and experienced team who have substantial research, writing and teaching experience, in schools, colleges and higher education.
