Course Information

This course features two compulsory modules that will give you a strong foundation in English skills related to business. In Advanced English Skills for Business you will be introduced to a range of topics, including Human Resources, Governance and e-marketing which you will be able to pursue in more depth depending on your choice of optional modules. Business communication focuses on the ways in which communication and interaction within business in different countries is influenced by a variety of cultural approaches, attitudes and expectations.

Alongside these modules, you will be able to choose from a range of business-related options. In Global Business Development you will learn about the processes underlying globalization and its varying effects on the development of business and societies in the different regions of the world. If you are interested in understanding and developing the skills required for managing in a global economy you can opt to study Developing Cross-Cultural Management Capability.

There are two modules on tourism. In Destination Management you will explore the nature and dynamics of tourist destinations and the challenges facing destination managers. In Innovation in Tourism you will gain an understanding of new product development and how the international tourism industry is evolving.

You can also study marketing. We have two modules, Digital Marketing and Advertising, both designed specifically for those who have no previous experience in this field. The ways in which businesses communicate and interact with their customers are constantly evolving and these modules will help you to develop a theoretical and practical understanding of these processes.
