The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) at CQUniversity equips you with practical skills, enabling you to use specific activities to help patients participate in life roles, and to optimise physical and mental health and wellbeing. Occupational therapists must be registered to practice in Australia and may work in a range of government, educational, and industry settings, as well as in private enterprise, throughout the world.
The course is designed to ensure you are equipped with underpinning knowledge in professional practice, human body systems, psychology and contemporary healthcare.
Your education and training will include occupational therapy courses covering a wide range of practice contexts, and you will develop highly-desired skills in areas such as assessment, service development, evaluation and critical thinking, enabling you to graduate work-ready.
The course has a strong focus on practical learning experiences and you will benefit from industry placements across a range of practice areas, including the purpose-built Allied Health Clinic at CQUniversity Rockhampton.

COURSE STRUCTURE
You are required to complete 30 core units and all professional placement requirements.
Occupational therapists are employed in a range of settings such as public and private hospitals, rehabilitation centres, schools, nursing homes, research institutions, special, centres for persons with a social, intellectual or physical disability and private practice. They are also employed as mental health workers and rehabilitation consultants.
