Satisfactory completion of Year 12 including Year 12 Maths, or overseas equivalent or successful completion of the Diploma of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Description
This course was developed by TAFE SA to respond to the workforce development needs of the civil and structural consulting industry in South Australia. Designed in collaboration with industry, the course prepares you to become a site engineer or project manager. In this role, your work may involve project programming, quality control, managing construction teams, liaising with sub-contractors and suppliers and communications with project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills Covered
Topics include construction practice, mathematics, computing for engineering, basic drawing, construction geotechnics, water infrastructure, structural analysis, site management, environmental engineering, water and wastewater treatment and computer science. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 15 core units and 2 elective units.
Course Notes
Students who do not have Year 12, Maths at Year 12 or the overseas equivalent, may wish to complete the package of the Certificate III in Engineering-Technical and the Associate Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering (Site Management or Design Drafting). The Certificate III in Engineering - Technical will provide a foundation of Maths to prepare the student for success in the Associate Degree.

If your goal is to achieve a bachelor degree in your chosen field of study, TAFE SA offers two different types of pathway to university - a University Packaged Program or Credit Transfer.
A University Packaged Program allows you to select the course and the university you wish to study at, before commencing your studies at TAFE SA.
Credit Transfer gives you the opportunity to select your university course on completion of your TAFE SA studies.
With additional Bachelor programs becoming available, international students can choose to stay at TAFE SA for qualifications such as the Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management.
