Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or over at the time of commencement

  • Must demonstrate satisfactory completion of studies in applicant’s home country equivalent to an Australian Year 12 qualification*

  • Are required to provide evidence of any one of the following tests of upper intermediate proficiency in English:

    • IELTS overall band of 5.5 (Academic or General)

    • TOEFL iBT (Internet-based test) score of 46

    • PTE Academic score of 42

    • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) score of 162

    • OET score of B for each test component

    • Duolingo English Test score of 85

    • Or any other English proficiency test that is equivalent to CEFR level B2

  • OR successful completion of the Alliance College Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Test.

*Other qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.


Course Requirements

To be awarded the Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology qualification, participants must successfully complete a total of thirty-six (36) units of competency, comprising of:

  • 20 core units, and

  • 16 elective units

Training and assessment are conducted in a classroom and workshop-based setting, using face-to-face teaching, workshops, practical tasks, group discussions and research projects. Assessment methods include observation of performance, oral and written questioning, written assessment, projects and case studies, role-plays, and third-party reports.
