Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements

Academic Entry Requirement:

  • Satisfactory completion of Year 10 or equivalent schooling and be at least 17 years of age.

  • Participate in a suitability interview for your chosen qualification.

RPL and Credit Transfer:

  • Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer can be requested for this qualification.

English Entry Requirement:

  • IELTS 6.0 or above, or equivalent.

Course Requirements

General Requirements:

  • Personal computer capable of being connected to the internet using a Wi-Fi connection

  • Home access to the internet, with good speed to be able to do conference video calls

  • Full automotive uniform (included in material fee)

Special Requirement:

  • This qualification will include 360 hours of industry placement, to be undertaken at an Alliance College approved workplace.

Course Information

This comprehensive qualification reflects the role of individuals who work as master diagnostic technicians the automotive service and repair industry; servicing, diagnosing and repairing vehicle electrical systems and components. A range of advanced electrical diagnostic skills and knowledge is necessary, and leadership and supervision of others would be expected.

Learning Outcomes

Master advanced diagnostics and repair of vehicle electrical systems, develop expertise in troubleshooting complex electrical issues in modern vehicles, gain leadership and supervisory skills for managing technical teams, understand safety regulations and industry best practices and enhance communication skills for effective client interactions.
