The programme aims to provide knowledge and necessary skills to enable students to identify relevant business opportunities, to assess options in small business, and to establish a business plan.
Students will equip themselves with a wide range of practical skills and the confidence to begin employment in a business environment, or move on to further study in the New Zealand Certificate in Business and beyond.
Students will gain the skills and knowledge needed to prepare them for a small business and helps students develop strong business and communication skills, broadening their career prospects.
The Programme covers identifying relevant business opportunities; assessing the feasibility, viability and requirements of a small business; how to produce a plan for establishing a small business, and how to evaluate technology options to effectively operate a small business. Students will also learn about legislation relating to small businesses, and gain communication and people skills for building effective relationships with stakeholders.
