Admission Requirements

Entry requirements

  • You should be 16 years of age or above on the date you start your course. You must attend a personal interview and meet all eligibility criteria (please contact us for details).

English requirements

  • IELTS 5.0 with no band lower than 5, or TOEFL pBT 510 with an essay score of 4.5 TWE, or TOEFL iBT 64 with a writing score of 20.

Course Information

Come and join New Zealand’s largest industry! The Tourism industry is a booming industry with lots of opportunities for you to grab. The Certificate in Tourism Level 3 gives you an insight of the industry if you haven’t studied Tourism before. It also equips you with knowledge and skills that are transferrable to any industry. You will focus on outbound and inbound tourism, legislation specific to the tourism industry and look at the New Zealand geography. 
This course also comes with Real World Experience (RWE). This is an exciting addition to our course and this gives our graduates a cutting edge chance to enter the industry as soon as they finish our qualifications. Crown recognises that businesses now need work-ready graduates and understands this from the perspective of the employer. This is why Crown also gives students work experience while they study. Our industry ties with travel agencies, hotel chains, ground handling agents and other tourism related associations make our students more likely to get the work experiences that they deserve.

You will also go on class visits and have guest speakers from the industry to tell you more about the fantastic opportunities in tourism and travel in New Zealand and to get you excited about working in such a bubbly and exciting industry.

  • 36,000 extra tourism workers are needed by 2025.
