Course Information

The field of surface coating within the leather industry is becoming increasingly important in the final performance of leather products with  graduates continually being expected to have an in-depth and critical view of this specific part of the leather manufacturing process. The finishing of automotive leather is required to comply with stringent quality performance specifications. The PGCert in “Leather Finishing – Automotive” is developed to further the knowledge of a leather or science graduate in this field. The programme aims to provide students with critical and analytical skills to both practice and critically review automotive leather finishing at postgraduate level.

This six week course is aimed at developing your existing knowledge of automotive leather finishing. The combination of the three modules provides the ideal mix of practical work, seminars and tutorials delivered by experts in the field.

Learning teaching and assessment

  • You will be assessed by coursework which may include: essays, presentations, data interpretation, case studies and time constraint tests. There are usually two or three items of assessments per module.

PGCert in Leather Finishing - Automotive

  • This is a unique six-week course, delivered by experts in the field on-site at Stahl Mexico, over two-week blocks throughout the year.
  • The course will also contribute to the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme for industry employees.
