TAFE SA accepts the following English tests:
Academic IELTS score of 5.5 Overall with minimum of 5.0 in all bands or equivalent.
Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Minimum 42 with 36 in all for communicative skills ((listening, reading, writing and speaking)
Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – PT and iBT: Score of 46, with reading: 4-7, listening: 4-6, speaking: 14-15, and writing: 14-17
University of Cambridge – ESOL Examinations for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CEP) or the Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): Overall score of 162 with a minimum of 154 in all bands
Description
This qualification helps you to create a career pathway as an interior designer. You will learn the skills to provide advice and practical solutions on the finishing and furnishing of interior spaces. This includes residential, commercial or institutional spaces and involves working directly with the client or associated professional.
Qualifications & Skills Covered
This course covers skills and knowledge required for creative and technical solutions for built environments. Interior design at this level covers the planning and detailing of complex residential, commercial and institutional design projects with an emphasis on space creation, space planning and the factors that affect peoples’ responses to living and working environments. It may also include design areas such as facilities for people with disabilities, institutional design, exhibitions, the aged and adaptive re-use projects. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 16 core units and 23 elective units.
Course Notes
TAFE SA is waiting for approval, from the regulator, for a new Diploma of Interior Design. Whilst waiting for this, the Advanced Diploma duration has been extended to 5 semesters. When approval is obtained, the Advanced Diploma duration will be reduced to 1 semester and students will need to complete the Diploma prior to the Advanced Diploma.
