Course Information

Animation is constantly changing and evolving, but even with the latest digital techniques drawing and story-telling remain key elements of any successful production.

This course will help you develop these skills, and you’ll also engage in debates on art, design and literature, subjects which will be central to your development.

You will work on individual and group projects, and have the opportunity to collaborate with students from Photography Video Art, Illustration and other courses.

Employability skills are integrated into the course and provide you with an awareness of the real-world context of the creative industries in general and Animation in particular. You will be helped to develop a strategy for obtaining appropriate employment at the end of your course.

Professional practice will be emphasised as part of all learning, with a work-related learning unit that will especially help you to become more focused on managing your career. You will be helped with the preparation of a professional portfolio; including a CV and social media skills needed to promote yourself in a social-mediated art and design world.

Typical graduate destinations for Animation students include: Various roles within design and creative industries, animator, film and television, advertising, music videos, interactive digital design, games design.

Further study at Masters level (Level seven), for example, Animation, Illustration, Visual Communication and Motion Graphics.
