According to The National Student Survey, Bedfordshire ranks second ranking in the UK of training Journalism and Marketing, ranks the third ranking in training medicine, fourth in training human resources.
Previously Luton College of Higher Education, with roots dating back to Luton Modern School, founded in 1908, the University of Bedfordshire has been known by its current name since the University of Luton and De Montfort University’s Bedford campus merged in 2006. It is a modern university with a total of six campuses across the counties of Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, offering courses in creative arts, sport, science, social sciences, business and a range of other subjects. Located in the town centre, the university’s Luton campus is home to seven departments, the students’ union and the Postgraduate and Continuing Professional Development Centre. Housing the Physical Education and Sports Science Centre and a number of lecture theatres and specialist labs, the Bedford campus is 20 minutes from Bedford town centre on foot.
