The programme covers classic barbering techniques, small hair detail, scissor skills, clipper and fade work including traditional wet shaves, plus professional ethics and standards. You'll study the latest fashions and develop your own style in relation to current trends in this exciting industry. With each cut and shave, our tutors will support and guide you to ensure you graduate feeling confident and competent and ready for the world of barbershop.

The 'barbering boom' has reached Christchurch with many new barbershops opening in the city and around Canterbury. As a graduate of this programme you can pathway into another hairdressing qualification or enter into a barbering apprenticeship with the New Zealand Hairdressing Industry Training Organisation.
