This certificate is designed to equip you with the academic skills and entry requirements for a range of certificates and diplomas. It will also give you the confidence you need to take your studies to the next level.
Support Work / Social Work Pathway covers skills for academic study as a compulsory course and then three other courses are chosen. These courses include te reo, Introduction to Human Body, Introduction to Nutrition, Fitness Training and Coaching Practice or Making Sense of Calculations.
Students will acquire academic skills to take them to the next level or level 4. Students will be able to write academic texts, do presentations, sit exams. There is no work placement component at this level. Tutorials, group projects, online quizzes and individual work is all included.
This programme is a gateway to NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing and then on to the Bachelor of Social Work if all requirements are met. If the destination is another bachelor degree, students may want to complete the NZ Certificate in Study and Career Preparation Level 4.

No Course!
Graduates of this programme will go on to further study in the NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 and then on to degree in social work if all requirements are met. They could also go on to do the New Zealand Certificate in Study and Career Preparation Level 4, NZ2860.
