Through the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP), immigrants possessing the skills and experience that match the provincial criteria will have the opportunity to receive a nomination letter, from which they can register for permanent residence in Canada.

The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) includes the following:

  • Yukon Express Entry (YEE)
  • Skilled Worker 
  • Critical Impact Worker 
  • Business Nominee 

Yukon Skilled Worker:

 This is a program that allows employers in Yukon to find or nominate suitable candidates who are eligible to apply for job vacancies in areas where there is a shortage of labor resources.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Recruitment jobs must be in NOC O occupations (management jobs), A (professional jobs that usually call for a degree from a university) and B (technical jobs and skilled trades that usually call for a college diploma or training as an apprentice).
  • Prove that this job is in shortage but unable to find suitable and qualified workers who are capable of fulfilling.
  • Recruitment job must be a full-time job.
  • Applicants must be able to communicate fluently in the French or English. If the job is included in NOC O or A occupations, the foreign language proficiency must be at least at CLB 7, and if included in B, the foreign language proficiency must be equivalent to CLB 5.
  • Have a full-time job offer from the employer
  • At least 1-year working experience in the same position

Requirements for employers:

To be eligible to offer a valid job offer to a foreign worker under the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP), the Yukon employer must meet the following requirements:

  • Employers must provide a permanent full-time position with a salary rate that meet industry standards.
  • Yukon business must operate in Yukon for at least one year. If the business is a non-profit organization, it must be operating for at least three years and must have secured funding for at least one year after applying for YNP. Businesses must also have a business registration certificate and are valid to operate in Yukon.
  • The employer offers the foreign national a job after demonstrating there is no Canadian or permanent resident available and/or suitable for the position. Employers must meet specific advertising requirements, including having advertised this position for at least 4 weeks on local and national recruiting facilities.

Yukon Critical Impact Worker:

The program was created to fill low-level human resources for specialized jobs in Canada. This program allows employers to nominate immigrants who have work experience to participate in the program. Candidates need to meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants must ensure that the recruiting job belongs to NOC C occupations (intermediate jobs that usually call for high school and/or job-specific training), D occupations (labor jobs that usually give on-the-job training).
  • Have been granted a work permit and have worked at least 6 months or more.
  • Must be able to speak in French or English with a minimum level of CLB 4

Employers must meet the following requirements:

  • Employers must provide a permanent full-time position with a salary rate that meet industry standards.
  • The business must have been operating in Yukon for at least 1 year. If the business is a nonprofit organization, it must have been operating for at least 3 years in Yukon and must have guaranteed funding for at least one year after applying for YNP. Businesses must also have a business registration certificate and are valid to operate in Yukon.
  • The employer offers the foreign national a job after demonstrating there is no Canadian or permanent resident available and/or suitable for the position. Employers must meet specific advertising requirements, including having advertised this position for at least 4 weeks on local and national recruiting facilities.

Yukon Express Entry Program:

The Yukon Express Entry Program (YEE) has been implemented since 2015, which is a stream of the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP).

The Yukon Express Entry program is affiliated with the federal Express Entry system, meaning that applicants must have an active profile in the Express Entry system to be eligible to participate. These individuals must meet the requirements of Yukon Express Entry and intend to live permanent and work in Yukon to be eligible to receive nominations from the Yukon.

Successful applicants must have 600 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) in their Express Entry profile and can be expedited to apply for permanent residence to quickly stabilize life and work in Yukon.

To eligible, applicant must:

  • Have a job offer from an employer in Yukon.
  • Must be between the ages of 21-55.
  • Education: have completed high school education and upwards (equivalent to Canadian education level).
  • Foreign language proficiency: must be proficient in English or French and must achieve a minimum score.
  • Have working experience for at least 1 year or more.

Business Nominee:

The Yukon Business Nominee program is for individuals with proven business skills. Or people who want to start a new business or partner with an existing business or buy and operate an existing Yukon business. 

To be eligible under the Yukon Business Nominee Program, the applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Achieve at least 65 points on the Nominee Assessment Grid (including a minimum of 10 points for language ability),
  • Have completed high school education or higher (proof required such as diploma, certificate ..) 
  • Have at least three years of entrepreneurial or business management experience;
  • Have at least five years of relevant experience related to the proposed business venture
  • Have been working on a job that is included in NOC 0 or A occupations
  • IELTS 6.0 or above or equivalent to TEF level 4
  • Not be a refugee or are requesting a government asylum program
  • Have never been rejected by the Canadian government for immigration application
  • Have never applied for nomination from other provinces
  • Have a minimum net worth of $500,000 CAD, verified by a Yukon accounting firm.
  • Have at least $300,000 CAD in liquid assets 
  • Intending to live permanently in Yukon and agree to reside when operating and managing businesses actively operate a business in Yukon and are willing to invest at least CAD 300,000 in the first 2 years of operation.
  • Only applicants who are in the application system are eligible to receive the invitation letter.
  • All applications will be placed in Yukon's case processing system and each application must not be stored exceed 6 months, otherwise, it will not be processed.
