Whether you are looking for a career in journalism, public relations, sociology, writing and communications, policy planning or research and analysis, the Diploma of Arts and Communication will help you achieve your goals. Specifically designed to respond to the demand for graduates who are ready for the challenges and opportunities of next generation arts and media industries, this diploma will equip you with key communication skills and the capacity to think both laterally and creatively.
You will learn the fundamentals of arts and humanities, and communications theory and practice, coupled with the various communication, management and technical skills required to apply your knowledge effectively in industry. This broad ranging foundation will prepare you for further studies across a range of areas including journalism, public relations, media and communications and sociology and performance.
You will benefit from a core focus on new media and communication technologies - understanding their social, cultural and institutional constructions, the dynamics driving and shaping their development, and the ethical, social, and cultural issues related to their growth.
If you do not meet the English language requirements you can undertake an English intensive course at Griffith English Language Institute (GELI) prior to commencing your Griffith College program.
The Direct Entry Program is your pathway to a Griffith University degree or Griffith College diploma. Build your English skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking, and at higher levels, practise academic skills. You won’t need to submit an English test score if you complete this program at the English level needed for your chosen degree or diploma.
Duration: The number of weeks you undertake study depends on your current English language proficiency
Start dates: With classes starting every five weeks, you can choose to start your English classes when it suits you best.
Tuition fee: Tuition fees for the Direct Entry Program will vary depending on the number of weeks you are enrolled.
